Our Mission

We are dedicated to putting our clients at the heart of everything we do and looking at the whole person not just a condition.

Our Standards

All our clinicians are registered with, and full members of the appropriate governing bodies including the HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council).

Team Members

Between us we have extensive clinical experience working with children and adults in all areas of dietetics from Sports Nutrition to Allergies, IBS. Weight Management, Diabetes and feeding difficulties.

Our speech and language therapist can support all aspects of speech and language development in young children and has additional training in feeding difficulties.

We can provide group education to patients, parents/carers, community groups, and in schools.

We are happy to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to share our findings with our NHS counterparts if you wish.

At Sunlight Nutrition we want to get to know you, understand your needs, your personal circumstances and offer advice that is practical, and tailor made for you.

We are not limited on time, and you can choose whether you would like to be seen in your own home, virtually or in our dedicated clinic setting.

Samantha Howard

Director at Sunlight Nutrition and Consultant Dietitian (DT214469)
Sam graduated with a master’s degree in nutrition from Nottingham University and started her dietetic career in the NHS in 2008. She is highly experienced and has worked in many clinical roles in adult and paediatric services. Sam has completed the SOS Approach to feeding and works with individuals and families where there are complex struggles with eating. In 2017 Sam founded Sunlight Nutrition with Dr Lynda Rigley and has established a thriving clinical practice delivering a high-quality client led service. One of Sam’s specialist roles is supporting people to manage complex health conditions and improve their quality of life. She works with both adults and children and her areas of interest are people living with acquired spinal and brain injuries, complex weight management alongside IBS and food allergies. Alongside the clinical work Samantha, an expert in the behavioural approach, directs Behaviour Change training (BCT), a subsidiary company of Sunlight Nutrition which actively trains health care professionals on the behavioural approach and patient centred care.

Dr Lynda Rigley

Director at Sunlight Nutrition and Consultant Dietitian (DT08033)
Lynda is a highly experienced dietitian with over 25 years’ of dietetic experience in both the NHS and private practice. Her clinical experience ranges from premature infants through to adolescents and adults. Lynda has completed the SOS Approach to feeding and works with individuals and families where there are complex struggles with eating. In 2017 Lynda founded Sunlight Nutrition with Samantha Howard and has established a thriving clinical practice delivering a high-quality client led service. Lynda works with both adults and children and has specialised in gut health and food allergy, including the low FODMAP diet. Lynda has undertaken further training on the low FODMAP diet with Monash University. Alongside her clinical work Lynda acts as an expert witness and is registered with Premex.

Siobhan O’Brien

Consultant Dietitian (DT06467)
Siobhan is a highly experienced dietitian with over 28 years’ of dietetic experience in both the NHS and private practice. Her clinical experience includes diabetes, weight management, nutrition support, women’s health and the menopause. Siobhan has undertaken additional training to qualify as a registered sport and exercise nutritionist (SENR). She works with performance-oriented athletes as well as individuals looking to under exercise for health. She works with both groups and individuals helping them to achieve their goals whether it is resistance training, training for a triathlon, marathon or a full ironman. An active sportswoman herself, Siobhan has an excellent insight and ability to help. Alongside her clinical work Siobhan is part of the BCT training team, training health care professionals in the behavioural approach and patient centred care.

Louise Micklethwaite

Consultant Dietitian (DT06316)
Louise graduated with first-class honours in Dietetics from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, and went on to complete a Master of Science in Health and Social Care Leadership from Sheffield Hallam University. She also has completed master’s-level training in Behaviour Change at the University of Nottingham. Louise has over 25 years’ experience across NHS and charitable sectors, including the past 9 years specialising in eating disorder treatment. Louise’s key areas of expertise are: Eating disorders (with significant experience in binge eating difficulties), disordered and emotional eating, weight management and mental health. She also has a keen interest in pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular health (cholesterol and blood pressure), gut/ gastrointestinal health and pregnancy nutrition. In addition to her work with Sunlight Nutrition, Louise provides specialist dietetic support in a Tier 3 Adult Specialist Weight Management Service within the NHS on a bank basis, and is BUPA registered.

Rachael Maddock

Consultant Speech and Language Therapist (SL02567)
Rachael is a highly experienced Speech and Language Therapist with over 25 years of experience in both the NHS and private practice. She can support all aspects of speech and language development in young children. Rachael’s areas of specialism include: Speech sound delay and disorder, Language delay and disorder, Feeding difficulties, Children with various medical and developmental conditions such as cerebral palsy, Down Syndrome, Autism and learning difficulties, visual impairment, and hearing impairment. AAC (Alternative and Augmentative Communication systems) Basic stammering support Rachael has recently completed the S.O.S Approach to Feeding and works alongside other members of the team to help individuals and families who are experiencing difficulties with feeding.

Vicky Tagg

Business Administrator
Vicky has over 20 years retail management experience working in flagship stores across a number of major high street brands covering Store Management, Sales and Operations. Vicky brings her wealth of experience to Sunlight Nutrition and manages the day to day running of the business. Vicky is currently developing her knowledge of nutrition and how it impacts on health. Recently Vicky has undertaken additional training around ARFID and helps support clinical assessments in this area.

Beki Beer

Administrative Assistant
Beki works as part of the admin team at Sunlight Nutrition, answering the phones, replying to emails, sending out reports and supporting the clinical staff as needed. Beki manages the social media content and develops Sunlight’s resources.

Kelly Haynes
